The School

It was opened on 29th April 1965 and is within the Macclesfield District of Cheshire. It is a County Primary School and works within the policies established by Cheshire County Council.

Lower Park has ten classrooms, 3 of which are brand new, spacious, well equipped and have pleasant view across the school field and adjacent countryside. They were opened on Monday 23rd September 2002 and at the same time the school opened a new computer suite.

The computer suite is a perfect environment in which the children can learn all about the 'power of the PC' and its increasing importance now and in the future. It features the latest technology, hardware and software all of which the children are taught to use.

The Hall is well equipped for P.E. and Gymnastics and is also used as a dining room for cash cafeteria lunches.

There is a very attractive central library area for all pupils. All classes have their own libraries.

There is a large playground with seating and an additional under-fives play area. Extensive grounds provide excellent opportunities for outside games. The school has a wildlife area and an orienteering course. Further opportunities for environmental education are available in the surrounding woodlands and fields.

The School is continually developing its environment both inside and out. The recent improvements to the play area at the front of the school are testament to the commitment of the parents and teachers to improve the School for the benefit of all pupils.

The School has a planned admission number of 40 pupils each year. It has places for 280 pupils. This will enable the school to ensure that all infant classes do not exceed 30 pupils in each class.
