Useful Websites: |
There are many other websites in our place in the world. Some are in Poynton and many places to visit in the region have their own site with all the information you need to know and details of attractions. You can even look up the films showing at the UCI Stockport. If you come across other good sites in our region tell Mrs Gallagher or your Lower Park Web Editors saying why you think they should be included on this page.
PoyntonWeb *(see below) which provides a full guide to our community as well as business activities in the village. It lists loads of clubs and societies including Brownies, Guides and Cubs, local shops, child friendly pubs, places to visit, and useful information such as bus timetables. If it's happening in the village it's almost certain to be found in this site. Virtual Poynton *(see below) This is another of Poynton's website with a simlar feel to PoyntonWeb although smaller. Poynton High School *(see below) Our High School has not only an intranet (a kind of internet but only available inside the school on their own computers) but also a site on the www. There's everything you might like to know about the school. Poynton Round Table *(see below) Great supporters of the Poynton community and our school - their members helped us considerably at the 2006 Summer Fair. They have also donated lots of money to local causes and charities. Not only that they have great fun and a good social life too. The site is one for the adults and if your dad is aged between 18 and 45 and has a little spare time on his hands the Round Table might offer the perfect opportunity for him to help the Poynton community. Macclesfield Borough Council *(see below) This site provides a very long A to Z list of things to do for the whole family. There's information on everything from Bowling, Cinemas, Farms, Karting, Museums, Picnic Areas, Ranger Activities, Horse Riding, Swimming, Wildlife and Zoos and much more. The Local Tip *(see below) Now that Poynton has been taken over by wheelie bins, recycling boxes and sacks, there's probably less of a need to visit the 'household waste & recycling centre' but it's still a valuable resource to the community if the bin's full or you have plastic bottles, which you can recycle rather than put in the bin. If you're not sure of its opening hours and don't want to make a 'wasted' journey check out the times. Cheshire County Council *(see below) This is packed with information on places to visit, and of course Education and Council Matters. Check out their section on all sorts of things to do and local tourist attractions. BBC Manchester's *(see below) site provides not only a wide ranging news and weather service but also allows you to search for the film of your choice and find out what's on at the region's theatres and other entertainment Virtual Manchester *(see below) This more of an adult type site but it does have a 'what's on' section and sport news. * Please note that Lower Park cannot be held responsible for the content of external websites. |
