To enhance their World War 2 history topic, Lower Park children from Year 5 and 6, teachers and helpers dressed in period clothes and spent a day at the Stockport Air Raid Shelters and the War Museum.
The youngsters imagined what it would be like to be evacuees and travelled back in time to discover what it would have been like to live during the war years. They also found out how children during World War 2 would have coped with food rationing, the Blitz and home life. Tom, Mr Marshall and Mrs Hodgkins were their war time guides.
