PTA Update

The first meeting in May of the PTA was full of great news all round!

Firstly, high on the agenda was the Playground re-generation plans that were put to us by the School Council. The School Council approached the PTA with 2 fantastic ideas to bring excitement and imagination to both KS1 and KS2 playtimes – the Trim Trail and Tyre Park. It gives us great pleasure to be able to commit to provide funding for the Trim Trail. The capital cost of both projects were unfortunately too high for us to fund both projects at this time, however the PTA overwhelmingly agreed to work with the School Council, pupils and of course, the parents, to raise funds that we can commit to the Tyre Park later on in the year.

A photo taken from the PTA 2008 Plant Sale Saturday 10th May saw our annual Plant Sale – the best year yet! We would like to thank all parents who volunteered to deliver leaflets and help on the day.

PTA members and parents sorted over 900 boxes of bedding plants into over 160 orders and delivered across the whole of Poynton, raising over £1500 for the School.

Please pass on our thanks to friends and neighbours who have supported the Plant Sale this year.



The Family Portrait Offer generated £500 and we collected nearly 250 Nestle Box Top vouchers to enable the School to purchase a dozen new books. Please keep on sending them in so that we can start to collect for the next period.

Summer Fair News

Next week we will be sending out a letter to inform you of the build up to the event of the Summer for the children – the Summer Fair! The Summer Fair this year will take place on Saturday 28th June between 11am and 2.30pm.

After the May break we will be asking for volunteers to help us man the stalls – time slots this year will be 11am-12.10pm; 12.10pm-1.20pm and 1.20pm-2.30pm. But you don’t need to wait until then to volunteer. Contact Nicky Waller on 07785 342515 or any member of the PTA, who will gratefully add you to the schedule.
