2004 - 2005 Round-Up

Sportsperson of the Year
Congratulations to Rebecca C who represented Lower Park at rugby, athletics, cross country, rounders, kwik cricket, athletics. She also took part in cycling awareness and phys kids. Just reading the list makes the LP Times editor feel exhausted - Well done Rebecca!


Athletics
The teams took part in the ‘Sports hall’ athletics in the Poynton Championships at the High School. Tremendous teamwork and effort all round. Big thanks to Mr Hetherington for his training. A huge number of children received medals and certificates in assembly.



Rounders
The Lower Park team were the South Stockport Schools runners-up.


Cycling Awareness
Over 20 children took part and passed the three out of school sessions. Many thanks to Mr Masters, Mr Calthorpe and Mr Heppenstall for running the course.




Phys Kids
This has been run by a dedicated group of year 6 pupils and midday assistants to encourage children to take part in a fun PE activity for 15 minutes of their school lunch hour.


Mini-marathon
The whole school took part completing one mile each. Donations went to Mr Parry's selected charity to enable more children to take part in sport.

Soccer
A great season for both the boys and girls teams. The boys ‘A’ team were the league runners up. They played 6 games, won 5 and lost 1.


Tag Rugby
The Poynton Primary school champions. They were also 4th in the Macclesfield area tounament and were the Poynton school to progress the furthest.

Kwik Cricket
The school was the runners-up in the Poynton group.


Netball
Netball. The boys and girls worked hard all season and played several challenging matches
