Friday:
After an early start, packing and tidying, the group was ferried
three miles along the road to Buckden House, an Outdoor Residential
Centre. The children were again split into small groups to attempt
some of the challenges
|
| Abseiling:
After the hard hats and safety harnesses were fitted, the group waited
at the foot of the abseiling tree. |
 |
 |
With
his arm in a sling, Tom was first to go abseiling. |
|
For some, the challenge of abseiling from the tree was huge. For others
it was just great! |
 |
 |
Even
the teachers were desperate to get involved! |
| Low
Ropes: The course proved more challenging than it looked. Each
team was roped together in order to complete the course. |
|
 |
The
team lost a point if any member of the team touched the ground during
their attempt. |
|
Rock
Climbing, Grass skiing and Spider's Web and a roped-together 'Follow
my Leader' were other challenging activities on the menu
|
|
Overall
everyone agreed this was a brilliant trip. We tried new things and
became better friends with everyone in the year group. We understood
the importance of teamwork and trust.
We'd
like to thank Mrs Gallagher, Mrs Chadwick, Mrs Daniels, Mr Parry
and Miss Partington for making it a huge success.
