'Year
6 Committee'
| This
has proved to be one of the most successful and motivated groups
of year 6 pupils. Throughout their time 'in office' they have constantly
been looking for ways to engage the interest of the other children
in school and raise money. |
|
|
| Since
September, Robert, James, Sam, Amy, Susie and Jessica (the year
6 committee) have: |
- Organised
and arranged a Junior Fancy Dress Activity and Games session
in the hall. This was a huge success, especially as it was billed
as a rounders match right up until the morning of the event.
The weather was atrocious, so they swiftly changed their plans
and everyone (including the teachers) went home happy.
-
A Pop Trivia Competition for infants and juniors.
-
A Christmas Card Competition.
-
A Trivia Quiz Competition.
- Two
Cake Sales, including a Valentine themed one in February. In
each case, a sell-out.
- Sold
drinks and sweets at the Infant and Junior Discos. This also
involves 'bagging up' the sweets beforehand, organising rotas
for the night, and the all-important clearing away at the end.

|
During
and after every event they have received praise from the PTA, staff
and children of the school.
They have been responsible for the publicity posters, letters and
fliers home to children and parents, informing the staff of their
activities and buying competition prizes. They have been very lucky
to have the invaluable support of Mrs Bertinshaw, who has helped
and encouraged them. |
|
|
| The
money raised is always directed back at the children. This year,
the committee have funded the homework planners/diaries for the
junior children and are hoping to buy two TV/Video combis (one for
the infants and one for the juniors). |

Well
